Artist Vendors Sought for Benson Summer Arts Festival
May 01, 2009
Attention Omaha area artists – Benson is calling.
Local artist vendors are sought for the 2009 Benson Summer Arts Festival. The event is set for Saturday, June 13, on Maple Street in downtown Benson. Activities will run from 8:30am until 11:00pm.
The celebration, previously known as Benson Days, has acquired a new name to reflect the area’s growing artistic and entrepreneurial environment, said Troy Arthur, president of the Benson Business Association and vice chair of the Benson-Ames Alliance Steering Council. “Our goal is to create one of the state’s best arts festivals,” he said, noting that more than 5,000 people attended in 2008.
The cost to reserve a space is $40 per spot. Power is available, and the vendor must supply a 10×10 tent to cover the space. Artists from throughout eastern Nebraska and western Iowa are sought. Crafters are also welcome. All artist vendors must commit to being open from 8:30am until 6:00pm.
The deadline to reserve a space is Friday, May 29. For more information, contact Arthur at 402.320.7173 or troy.arthur@bankofthewest.com.
