Feedback Sought on Urban Form & Transportation Draft
October 01, 2009
Public comment is sought on the urban form & transportation section of Environment Omaha, a policy development initiative that’s addressing the sustainability of the city in a comprehensive manner. The final draft of the urban form & transportation document is available for review at www.environmentomaha.com, and members of the public can leave their comments at www.environmentomaha.com/discussion.
The urban form & transportation document focuses on six subgoals – large-scale city form, land use and development policy, land development, transportation network, transit and active transportation.
The draft document was developed by the Urban Form & Transportation Advisory Committee, which is chaired by Marty Shukert of RDG Planning and Design. The committee, a group of 23 volunteers representing a diversity of professions and perspectives, considered suggestions from the public in developing the content. The document was then reviewed by the Environment Omaha Core Committee.
