New Year, New Web Site

January 13, 2010

Omaha by Design is kicking off the new year with a new web site.

The site, www.omahabydesign.org, reflects the organization’s newly defined mission. “Today, we are a civic planning organization focused on the development, implementation and monitoring of urban design and environmental public policy in the metro,” said Connie Spellman, director of Omaha by Design.

The site is organized according to ObD’s two public policy areas – urban design and the environment. Projects are categorized by one of four areas of focus: Green Omaha, respecting the natural environment; Civic Omaha – fostering civic pride; Neighborhood Omaha – celebrating neighborhood diversity; and Environment Omaha – creating a more sustainable city. The first three areas stem from urban design public policy, and the latter stems from environmental public policy.

The headlines and calendar sections will give users access to the organization’s latest news and events. The site will continue to grow as new projects are launched, Spellman said.
