9 great walks brochures available
April 14, 2010
If you’re a fan of both walking and exploring your city, Alegent Health and Live Well Omaha Kids have just the brochure for you.
The duo has funded the printing of Omaha by Design’s 9 Great Walks brochure. The walks, compiled by Omaha by Design’s volunteer Place Game facilitators and promoted by Activate Omaha, take participants through a mix of urban environments, from park settings to historic and cultural areas. They vary in length and include points of interest along the route. On the list:
- Dundee Walk
- Field Club Walk
- Florence/N.P. Dodge Park Walk
- Memorial/Elmwood Parks Walk
- Old Market Walk
- Prospect Hill Cemetery Walk
- Riverfront Walk
- South 24th Street Walk
- Zorinsky Lake Park Walk
The brochures contain maps and detailed directions for each walk as well as a ‘walking notes’ section.
“Alegent Health, as a supporter of the community coalition to address childhood obesity known as Live Well Omaha Kids, is happy to support opportunities for families to get outside and be physically active together while enjoying the sites that Omaha has to offer,” said Mikki Frost, administrative director-healthier communities at Alegent Health.
