environment omaha campaign wins service industry ad award
June 09, 2010
Environment Omaha’s “What can you do?” awareness campaign is the recipient of a silver award from the seventh annual Service Industry Advertising Awards competition.
Launched last September, the campaign features Metro Area Transit buses that carry exterior and onboard messages encouraging Omahans to live greener at home, at work and at play. A set of corresponding tips, posted on www.environmentomaha.com, come in two forms – “taking it slow” and “we’re talking commitment.” Locals with tips to share can submit them to the web site.
The campaign was developed by Mint Design Group in partnership with Environment Omaha, Metro Area Transit and Quality Pork International Inc. “Environment Omaha is all about making our city a more sustainable place, and individuals can do a little or a lot to help make that happen, depending upon their interest and level of commitment,” said Connie Spellman, director of Omaha by Design.
A national panel of judges evaluated and rated more than 1,400 entries. The “What can you do?” campaign was rated in the outdoor transit/billboard category for its execution, creativity, quality, consumer appeal and overall breakthrough advertising content. More than 300 advertising agencies and 900 institutions participated in the competition.
