tree planting oct. 1
September 29, 2010
OMAHA – Omaha by Design will host a tree planting event at the Neighborhood Action & Fact Association’s community garden Friday, Oct. 1, at 8:30am. The garden, which was created and is maintained by the association, is located on the corner of 25th and Manderson.
Omaha by Design donates a free tree to all neighborhood and civic groups that have completed a Place Game workshop and applied for grant funding to help implement their ideas for improving their corner of the city. The Place Game, a free service of Omaha by Design, is a fun, easy and organized way of brainstorming potential improvements to public spaces by listening to the people who use them. It was created by the Project for Public Spaces (PPS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people create and sustain public spaces that build stronger communities.
Omaha by Design conducts Place Game workshops free of charge from March through October. For more information about the tree planting or the workshops, call 402.554.4010 or email info@omahabydesign.org.
