Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle and Omaha City Councilman Pete Festersen will announce the construction schedule for the east gateway entrance to Benson at a news conference scheduled for Wednesday, March 14, at 2:00pm. The event will be held in the parking lot of the former Louis Market at 5718 Northwest Radial Highway.
The entrance is part of the new streetscape design for downtown Benson launched by the Benson-Ames Alliance in 2008 in cooperation with the City of Omaha, the Benson Neighborhood Association, the Benson Business Association and the Benson Business Improvement District. The plan reflects downtown Benson’s emergence as a center for creativity, art, music, performance and innovation.
