Omaha by Design celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2011.

The organization celebrated its 10th anniversary of service to the community in 2011. Following a rigorous strategic planning process conducted that year and involving representatives from Omaha’s public, private and philanthropic sectors, the decision was made to continue to operate in 2012 and beyond, said Connie Spellman, director of Omaha by Design.
2011 project highlights range from launching the Environment Omaha Implementation Team to help guide the implementation of the more than 600 recommendations outlined in the city’s Environmental Element to commissioning the National Trust for Historic Preservation to conduct an assessment of the metro’s capacity for historic preservation to launching the Prairie in the Park project.
“We are indebted to the many who helped make our first decade possible, and we remain committed to making our city the best Omaha it can be,” Spellman said.
