Speculative Research Studio Exhibit
January 11, 2017
In December, Omaha by Design hosted its second First Friday in the Old Market. The exhibit, Health and Wellness Futures, drew in over 150 people. The exhibit was created by students and faculty of the UNL College of Architecture’s Speculative Research Studio in collaboration with HDR Omaha Architecture. The projects featured in the exhibit will be in a publication later in 2017.
The exhibit highlights 13 unique research projects that speculate on a range of topics from transportation, the demographic development gap, and technological dependancy, among other topics.
Meghan Janousek was one of the students for the exhibit, and her project examines types of spaces that promote voluntarily unplugging from our dependency on technology. To see parts of Meghan’s project, click here.
Thank you to Christopher Turner and all of the students who participated in the exhibit and its installation.
