Control Seminar Feb. 21

Erosion and sediment control will take center stage at a seminar scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 21, in Omaha.

“Building for the Future: Erosion & Sediment Control Seminar V” will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Central, 3321 S. 72nd St.  The event will cover regional stormwater management policies and ordinances, regional grading permit procedures, the general stormwater construction permit, EPA inspection and enforcement procedures, low impact development, and post-construction BMPs. 

The seminar is sponsored by the City of Omaha, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District, the Metro Omaha Builders Association, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Nebraska State Home Builders Association, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension in Douglas and Sarpy counties, the Papillion Creek Watershed Partnership and the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality.

Kent Holm, director of Douglas County Environmental Services, will serve as the emcee.  The vendor booths open at 7:30 a.m., and the agenda is listed below.
