What the Place Game Team Liked Best

The team liked the large open, flat area and the creek that divides it.  They saw good accessibility and visibility for a public walking path.

What Could Be Improved

They disliked the creek’s current condition, the traffic noise and the lack of a sidewalk on the north side along Vane Street.  Concerns were expressed about safety in the area because of the heavy traffic on Sorenson Parkway and 78th Street.

Short Term

• Plant more grass, and add trees.
• Construct exercise stations.
• Add fencing to improve safety.
• Plant a small garden.
• Clean up the creek for both safety and appearance.
• Add signage.
• Develop a land plan for the parcel.

Long Term

• Build a picnic area.
• Add benches for relaxation and conversation.
• Construct a shelter for events and picnics.
• Address parking issues.
• Install a tot playground.
• Put in a water feature.
• Add sanitary facilities for park users.
• Build a bridge over the creek.
• Generally improve landscaping.
