As I set out to photograph Matt Placzek’s installation Illuminain front of the Qwest Center for Omaha by Design, I realized that the very nature of the art called for working after dark. The built-in lighting gives the whole scene a different and ever changing ambiance at night.
I wondered if public art around the city might also be transformed by the forces of darkness, so I visited other works after the sun went down. This month, I offer a photo essay of what I found. (Slides play automatically, or use the controls.)
