Omaha by Design Community Awards Program

Omaha by Design presents a series of community awards each year to honor those working to enhance Omaha’s economic development potential by improving the quality of its physical environment. Recipients are helping build a community of choice that makes a high quality of life accessible to all.

The Laurels Award

The Laurels Award, Omaha by Design’s highest honor, recognizes an individual, organization or business for significant contributions to great public spaces in the Omaha metro.

Access and Mobility Award

The Access and Mobility Award recognizes an individual, group, organization or business that has worked to enhance the way Omahans move around the city and how its neighborhoods connect with one another.

Recipients:

Community Appearance Award

The Community Appearance Award recognizes an individual, group, organization or business that has worked to enhance the way the Omaha metro looks or to preserve the civic characteristics that define its public image and contribute to its appeal.

Environment and Open Space Award

The Environment and Open Space Award recognizes an individual, group, organization or business that has worked to preserve or enhance the Omaha metro’s natural setting, park system and open spaces.

Neighborhood Revitalization Award

The Neighborhood Revitalization Award recognizes an individual, group, organization or business that has worked to preserve or enhance an Omaha metro neighborhood.

The Green Leaf

The Green Leaf recognizes an individual, organization or business that has worked to preserve and enhance the metropolitan area’s natural setting and public park system.

The Civic Leaf recognizes an individual, organization or business that has worked to define and improve the metropolitan area’s civic places and public image.

The Neighborhood Leaf

The Neighborhood Leaf recognizes an individual, organization or business that has worked to preserve and enhance the metropolitan area’s residential neighborhoods.
