The Mayor's 2002 Neighborhood Improvement Grants were announced August 8, totaling $84,000 and awarded to 24 neighborhood associations. Lively Omaha partnered with the Mayor's office providing the "Place Game" training to assist neighborhoods in looking at their pubic spaces in a new and expanded manner. Lively Omaha sponsored Project for Public Spaces to conduct the required training. In addition, three of the neighborhoods that were awarded grants requested "Place Game" training for their own neighborhood associations. Congratulations to all!

Ak-Sar-Ben-Elmwood Park Neighborhood, $5,000, neighborhood street banners.

Belvedere Point Neighborhood, $5,000, Project Fit.

Bemis Park Neighborhood, $5,000, Mother & Child Statue Project/Historical Sign Replacement.

Benson Neighborhood, $3,505, banners.

Central Park Neighborhood, $1,500, secure a litter-free area.

Conestoga Place Homeowners, $2,000, Healthy Neighborhood Project, landscaping and renovation.

Country Club Community, $1,670, improvements around Rose Hill School.

Dundee-Memorial, $2,500, renovate 48th and Underwood/California Lot.

Dundee Neighborhood, $2,500, renovate 48th and Underwood/California Lot.

Elmwood Park Neighborhood, $2,500, landscaping and improvement at Park.

Field Club Neighborhood, $5,000, historic ground signs.

Florence Futures Neighborhood, $4,240, Historic Florence Initiative banners.

Gifford Park Neighborhood, $3,300, Safe 33rd and California project.

Highlander Neighborhood, $3,065, anti-litter campaign.

Joslyn Castle Neighborhood, $5,000, outside electric service at Joslyn Castle forneighborhood activities.

Leavenworth Neighborhood, $5,000, improve public spaces on Turner Boulevard.

Miller Park-Minne Lusa Neighborhood, $1,800, park bench improvement and fishing pond sign.

Morton Meadows Neighborhood, $5,000, Morton Meadows Twin Ridge Boulevard Beautification.

Old Market Business, $5,000, art and seating in the market.

Old Millard East Neighborhood, $2,000, benches and other seating in park.

Orchard Hill Neighborhood, $4,800, create neighborhood green space.

Pacific-Leavenworth Neighborhood, $4,600, landscape and benches for the Field Club Trail and Trail Head.

Park East Neighborhood, $3,113, banners and improvements.

South Omaha Business Association, $970, Heritage Flag collection and Mi Casa Es Su Casa cleanup campaign

Lively Omaha has a volunteer committee available to conduct "Place Game" workshops for neighborhood associations.
