LAURELS FROM LIVELY OMAHA

Lively Omaha presents its first Laurels Award to the City of Omaha's Planning Department. Bob Peters, Planning Director, is presented the award for the creation of the new Omaha "special community values" designation. The new city design guidelines are aimed at creating Main Street-like atmosphere in the suburbs.

The designations allow less dense business centers than the city normally would approve in exchange for pedestrian-friendly designs with such amenities as public plazas, extra landscaping, sculptures and sidewalks between stores and into neighborhoods.

Congratulations to Bob Peters and the Omaha City Planning Department!
