Brainstorming Session Emerging Themes
The Place Game teams recommendations and
suggestions included:

Create identity of 20th
Street as an arts corridor, a children's corridor and
an educational corridor from elementary school to high
school to university levels including Liberty Elementary,
Central High School and Creighton University.

Design a concept for banners,
sculptures and signage. Could move from playful to sophisticated
as educational levels move from elementary to university.

Explore options for traffic control
- Speed and noise reduction along the street.
- Creation of a boulevard system or start with 2 way
street with diagonal parking.
- Tiered levels to creative pedestrian "walkways"
along 20th street

Bike lanes as part of connection and pedestrian friendly
location.

Focus on needs of children.
Make street and spaces connected, safe, comfortable
and fun for walking, visiting and playing.

Increase lighting and create
"signature" lighting for length of street.

Create identifying features
- Arches at both ends of the CAD on 20th
- Creative Signage to identify facilities and their
proximity to each other to encourage
walking between facilities.
- Sculpture, wall murals, etc.
