Civic Center Plaza Place Game Workshop

On March 6, 2003, the Omaha Douglas Public Building Commission and Lively Omaha joined forces to engage those work in and near the City/County Civic Center in a Place-making Workshop on the plazas. Lively Omaha facilitators led small groups by looking, listening and walking around the plazas and then brainstorming ideas to make the plazas a center of community pride.

The Civic Center is important to Omaha’s past and future as well as being its seat of government. The commitment of the Omaha Douglas Public Building Commission made the Omaha Douglas Civic Center Plazas ideal for the Place Game process and follow-up suggestions and recommendations to improve one of Omaha’s great public spaces.
