Harney
Street Plaza - Lower Level

Workshop participants appreciated the presence of trees in
the lower plaza and its intimate feel. They liked its proximity
to the Court House and the ability to sit throughout the area.
They observed a lack of adequate separation between smoking
and non-smoking areas, little shade, color or signage. There
are no logical linkages to other levels, many blank walls
and inappropriate lighting fixtures.
The temporary looking guard shack and obvious security barriers
in the area are the biggest issues for the space.
Short Term
-
Add umbrellas to increase shade particularly
at the noon hour.
- Add attractive light features consistent with
architectural details
- Offer entertainment activities throughout
all four seasons.
