Jackson Street from 10th to 11th

What the Event Game Team Liked Best

The Event Gamers liked the social interaction of people visiting with each other, the tents for vendors and the good mix of products and food offered.

What Could Be Improved

They observed that the area seems overcrowded and disliked the presence of customer and vendor vehicles parked in the area and pets in close proximity to food and children.

Short Term

  • Create uniform laminated vendor signs for each tent
  • Design fliers, signs and maps listing each vendors location to be distributed and located throughout market
  • Move vendor parking away from market
  • Add trash cans
  • Locate musical group(s) on the corner of 10th and Jackson to draw attention to the east end of the market
  • Improve vendor diversity along the street by mixing crafts, flowers and food

Long Term

  • Prohibit animals
  • Improve advertising by printing a flier that identifies vendors and products
  • Improve signage identifying restrooms
  • Allow vendors to purchase a site (seasonal) license to prepare food and drink on the premises
  • Add benches for seating; place benches along Jackson Street from to 10th to 11th next to the parking lot barricade
  • Explore new areas to provide additional space, e.g. the city's parking lot on the south side of Jackson from 10th to 11th
  • Provide vendors with a clear set of guidelines for "dos and don'ts" (procedures)
