Brainstorming Session Emerging Themes

The Place Game Teams’ recommendations and suggestions included:

• Make spaces more interactive and pedestrian-oriented for the public and students. There should be easy access and connections between the three major facilities during the day, at night and on weekends. Plan activities for the library area, the transit center and spaces in front of Mahoney and ITC buildings.
  
• Focus on safety issues around the area. Improving lighting, installing safety phones and implementing traffic calming features were all suggested for the area.
  
• Provide connectors/trails to campus and surrounding areas. This would include trails from library to surrounding area, the transit center to the Mahoney and ITC buildings and connecting to other areas on campus. The identification of land use on Stockyards property would be helpful for overall campus planning
